'Hello!

My name is Popescu Sebastian Ioan and I was born on February 9 2015, to the great joy of my parents. Although it all started well (at birth I received an Apgar score of 9), on the third day of my life I made a cardio-respiratory arrest. The doctors told us that lack of oxygen has greatly affected my fragile brain. No one could offer a guarantee that I would develop like a normal child. '

Sebastian was born at 39 weeks, via caesarean section. The Apgar score was 9/10 and he weighed 3100 gr. Two days after birth he presented a cardio-respiratory arrest, was resuscitated and then ventilated for seven days. Following the ultrasounds, the following were found:

-Cerebral edema;

- Suspicion of arterial-venous fistula with increased right prostration and heart failure.

Diagnosis at birth: hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, poro-encephaly, gastro-esophageal reflux, anemia, central venous catheter colonization - candida.

The transfer to the M.S. Curie Hospital was next and there the suspicion of intra-hepatic arterial-venous fistula was excluded. Antibiotic treatment was instituted until the venous central catheter was removed. Symptomatic epilepsy crises have occurred, being kept under control with Phenobarbital. Genetic tests have negated a possible metabolic disease. Health conditions have improved and Sebastian has received the discharge sheet with the following recommendations: pediatric neurological consultation, medical recovery, immunizations, treatment with Phenobarbital, Gaviscon, and cerebral MRI.

At the first neurological consultation Dr. Teleanu Raluca found the following diagnoses: organic epilepsy, delay in neuro-psychomotor development, moderate protein-energetic malnutrition, gastro-esophageal reflux disease, eating disorder, microcephaly, mixed PCI, spastic dyskinetics.

Conclusions of the MRI brain: significant lesions of the peripheral and deep encephalomyelia. Similar but less extensive lesions are also present in the cerebellum. Cerebral hemispheres have a multichistic appearance, identifying only one area within the cerebral parenchyma (white matter), periventricular.

Recommendations for therapies supported with the Future Chance Foundation:

1. Hyperbaric Chamber Constanta

2. BOBATH Therapy

3. Occupational Therapy

4. Logopedia

5. Osteopathy

6. Other costs: Constanta accommodation, transport, medication support, case promotion.
