Donate a book, save the earth

My husband was once a “full-time surfer” when we were living in Hualien, Taiwan. He could surf the whole day from 7 mornings till 7 evening, Monday to Sunday. We lived so close to the ocean. There were quite a few times he saw shark and turtle when he was surfing.

We get married and I was pregnant when we came back to Malaysia. Now, we live in Klang and the surfing spot in Malaysia is quite far away.Since then, we stop surfing.

However, we decided to return to the ocean this year especially when our two little kids start learning. There’s a lot of characteristic we would like to enhance in our children’s life through surfing.We believed that children who rise to the mother nature touch will have stronger self-confidence, perseverance, and tolerance.

Cherating is just as nice as any surfing spot we used to go in Hualien. The wave is nice, the surfers are friendly. The only concern is there is rubbish everywhere. We surf in the sea, we play along with the beach the whole day, but the rubbish is just around us. We, as a human being is enjoying the gift from nature, yet leaving all waste to nature. This rubbish ends up to be in the sea, and even in the sea creature’s body.

We talked to the @ombok cafe Cherating's boss, and we decided to do something: to create awareness among the tourist as well as the local. The @ombok cafe Cherating has started to join the @trash hero Cherating to clean up the beach every Sunday evening when the tourist left and rubbish was to be seen everywhere. However, we wanted to start from the root: to educate the youngsters.Hence, we would like you to join our campaign by donating a book.

@The Ombok Cafe will set up a bookshelf and a reading corner while we will be leading environment protection workshop for the local kids.
