All I have left from my life prior to my divorce is a great bed, my wonderful dog and some clothes. I was not able to cope well emotionally with my divorce. I did not have a solid center or positive personal resources to guide me through. I chose to handle my pain in unhealthy ways and ended up with a substance abuse problem. It took me 5 very hard, long years to get almost 2 years of sobriety that I would not trade for the world. The strength I found is in my higher power, God. I saw how God was there the entire time, watching and waiting for me to hit my bottom and cry for help. I am forever grateful for my journey that brought me strength, hope, inspiration and guidance. I realized I was living very selfishly and being absorbed by my own pain. I was a taker, now I am a giver!

I am ready to share my experience, strength and hope with others and know that living a life for others is where I want to be, but I need a little help! I need funding to complete the additional professional training for mental health/addictions counseling, transportation, housing and other out-of-state relocation fees to the state (NC) where I will be certified in counseling. I know that the few things I now have do not belong to me. They come from God and it is my responsibility to be a good steward of all I receive!
