Dominick Imbraguglio was wrongfully convicted in 2007 for a crime he did not commit at 18 years old in 2003. He has been incarcerated for the last 16 years on a life without parole sentence. I was hired on as an investigator to connect the missing pieces in his extremely complex complicated case. What I have uncovered to date is extremely troubling. There are instances of juror bias, misconduct on multiple levels, ineffective assistance of counsel, a forced confession, and now his records have mysteriously vanished. The states expert witness has had testimony come under question. There is also public outcry against him. There was evidence that he was beaten during the interrogation. He requested a lawyer and his mother to be present. Dominick suffers from organic brain damage and had a 6th grade education when he was brought in for questioning. He did not understand his rights they forced him to waive. They refused to produce an attorney or his mother. They said he was not under arrest but refused to let him leave. Alternatively, he was hand cuffed to a table and beaten for 9 hours. He was sentenced to life without parole as a first time offender. He was convicted solely on circumstantial evidence. The forced confession was all that the prosecution had. His lawyer did not produce the expert witness that he paid for, did not cross examine the witnesses, and refused to allow Dominick to get on the stand to tell his side of the story. The lawyer he hired for his appeal "forgot" to file in a timely manner. The attorney board found that his negligence constituted misconduct and ordered he was refunded, but this did nothing to salvage his timeline in the appeals process. Every appeal he has filed afterwards has been thrown out based on it being untimely. A refund and apology does not make up for the fact that he has never been able to properly appeal his case. Not only has he been in prison for 16 years, but he has been in solitary confinement for the last 6. Extended solitary confinement has been proven to cause mental health problems. He suffers every day for a crime he did not commit. I need help in raising money to obtain the legal team we need to bring him home, Expert witnesses, lawyers, jury specialists, and court costs add up quickly. I have found evidence to prove his innocence. Please help this innocent man. If you can not donate to his cause and you are either an expert witness, legal professional, or someone that runs an organization that could write something on his behalf, that would be greatly appreciated as well. Thank you in advance for your help. Dominick is now 35 years old, happily married, and has 3 step children. He has furthered his education during his incarceration. Every day that passes is a day he misses out on spending time with his family. His mother and grandmother both passed away while he was behind bars. Please do not allow these people to take another day of his freedom away from him. Thank you and God bless.
