Domestic Violence Divorce Lawyer/Aid

Thanks for taking your time to read this. I am raising money for a person who is very important to me. She was a victim of domestic violence, and suffered many years of it. A lot of people think domestic violence is just an argument that got out of control a couple times, and that is simply untrue. I had to witness this woman go through so much hell with her husband in the time that I have known her over the years. Beatings, emotional torture, financial imprisonment. I always used to ask, why not leave? She was always taken care of financially, everything was always payed for, but never allowed to get a job, pay any bills, or even open a bank account. I never understood why until it started to reach the end of the line. The beatings got worse, money got tighter, and I came to a realization. That even if she did leave, she would have no money, no job, no means of taking care of her self at all. That's one reason among many that she wouldn't leave. Another reason, of course, that he would come after her physically. One night, she shows up to my house, beaten again with her phone and tablet smashed into a million pieces, face puffy, bruised up and red, mouth bleeding. Law enforcement had to be involved at this point. Long story short, she decided to finally take a stand against tyranny, and this man was convicted and sent to jail. Now is left with the financial part. Over a year later with the bills still piling up due to the fact that her husband stopped paying on everything including car insurance, utilities, mortgage, support, food, anything. I am stepping in and asking for your help. I am trying to raise money for a divorce lawyer and financial aid, so she can finally take back her life and finally be done, once and for all.
