People say; if you have a dream, you should chase it.
My dream is to be a professional rugby player, however, the lack of funds stand in my way. My parents are labourers on a farm in Oudtshoorn, South Africa, which makes it difficult for them to provide the financial support. Luckily, Neil and Helena Wilken, the owners of the farm, have been supporting me and are willing to help me run this campaign. Now I appeal to you to help me make my dreams come true in any way you see fit.
I, Domenic Smit am from a farm in the Oudtshoorn district in the Western Cape, South Africa. I went to school in my local town and was fortunate enough to be invited by The Griffons Rugby Union to complete my matric year in Welkom with a rugby scholarship.
After my matric year, I was invited to stay with the Club for another year to play rugby. I had a full scholarship for these 2 years and really enjoyed every minute.
I was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship from Bloemfontein Rugby Academy for 2017. Unfortunately, this excludes food and accommodation. I am willing to do whatever is necessary to get the funds to fulfil my destiny. I currently work in Hollywood, George as a betting clerk. Yes, I know that this is not even remotely close to what I should be doing but, it is the best position available at the moment.
We calculated that the amount I would need in Bloemfontein is R 6 000 per month, which includes food, travel and accommodation.
The year already started, which means I am missing out big time.
I would really appreciate every Rand, Dollar or Euro that will help me live my dream, but any offers or opportunities are also welcome!
Thank you in anticipation,

To whom it may concern
I , Chris Kasselman , hereby declare that we are prepared to provide Domenic Smit with a bursary at the rugby academy of R 15 000 for 2017. The total cost for the year at our academy is R 25 000. Therefore Domenic will pay R 10 000 if he decides to join us. That can be paid by a first payment of R 1 500 when accepting our offer. From 1st of March a monthly payment of R 1 500 for 5 months and a final payment of R 1 000 in August.
Regarding accommodation we can recommend that he stays at Lakewood Lodge. Most of our players are staying there. The monthly rent amounts to R 1 800 per person sharing. We will stand in for the breakage deposit of R 2 500 as we will be refunded by Lakewood when Domenic departs. All the players at Lakewood have to look after themselves to provide their own meals. The rugby season will end somewhere from end of September to the end of October depending on for which team Domenic will play then.
We really believe in Domenic and I am convinced that he will play for Cheetahs u/21 or higher this year and therefore we want to keep him in the system and provide the platform for him to play at the highest possible level. Any help from anywhere would be very much appreciated to make Domenic’s dream , to become a professional rugby player , come true.
