Chances are that you (like us) have family members, friends, colleagues and acquaintances in some parts of Kazakhstan or are otherwise sympathetic to the plight of the Kazakhstani people and you have been waking up to Telegram channels, WhatsApp messages, Insta stories, Facebook posts, news from all over with terrible facts and pictures about what took place on the streets of Almaty and other cities during the unrest on the 4-7th of January 2022 that is currently affecting millions of people very badly.

So if you too are feeling sad, overwhelmed, enraged or perhaps feeling helpless being away from your loved ones, let's come together and start doing something about it.

We are currently looking for a set of reputable organizations on the ground and speaking to a number of volunteer groups who will be able to use these funds effectively and help to the largest number of people and businesses. Since the situation is fluid and the internet connection is very unstable at the moment, it will take time to confirm which organizations will receive the funds. We will make sure to keep you posted.

We aim to raise USD $11,500 (~KZT 5 millions) through this campaign and we assure to match it by an equivalent amount from our end, so that we contribute USD 23,000 (~KZT 10 millions) to NGOs in Kazakhstan who will further channel these funds to help civilians with basic necessities and businesses affected by the unrest to get back on feet as soon as possible (as otherwise a lot of people will have no jobs to return to).

We estimate that with USD 23,000 (~KZT 10 millions) together we would be able to help 20,000-50,000 civilians and potentially save their lives and bring back security, hope and joy to their families!

We kindly request and urge all of you to support us in this mission by contributing an amount that you deem fit (no amount is too small) and also by sharing the link of this campaign with your family, friends and colleagues so that we can maximize the reach and impact - from past experiences of running such campaigns, for every $1 that you donate in person, you can potentially help add 30 cents (30% impact) through indirect donations by sharing with your near and dear ones.

Thank you for your support in advance.

Let's come together and help the Kazakhstani people rebuild.

Stay home, be safe and take care!

Regina and Olzhas Zhiyenkulov

With a lot of uncertainty back home and being far away the only way we can help is to gather funds and to partner with NGOs who will be able to provide basic care support to citizens and small businesses who have been hit hardest.

  • No amount is too small. Every cent helps.
  • You can choose to donate anonymously. You can also contribute in different ways. Sell art or create digital art for those who donate as an example.
  • If for whatever reason you’re not able to donate, please help us by spreading the word. A big part of this is to raise awareness about the plight of the Kazakhstani people. Please share this message.
