C and J Abundante Farms Corporations is a farm located in Tuskegee Alabama. Which is also known as one of the counties that's apart of The Black Belt Community. These are communities that have been identified as economically disadvantaged.

Our farm is not organically certified. However, we grow our fruits and vegatables as natural as possible. We are sustainable growers. It is our belief that everyone deserves healthy foods that will benefit them as well as the environment. We do not use dangerous pesticides, fungicides and herbicides on our farm. We use more natural ways to grow our product, control fungi, diseases, as well  as for pest control. We inspire to be an entity that produces natural fruits and vegatables God's way by using nature and manpower( hoeing and tilling) to ensure we get the best yield from what we grow. We also never use GMO seeds on our farm.

A the present time we grow on 35 acres of land. Our operation reaches our community,  and state as well as the south east region. It our our future goal to expand even further.

Our fields are given the best care that can possibly be provided including soil testing, water testing and the use of appropriate fertilizers. Crops grown on the farm at the present time include watermelons, cantalopes, okra, mixed greens and cucumbers.

We are developing marketing and promotional programs to increase public awareness of the health benifits of eating homegrown, local fruits and vegatables to encourage more consumption of healthy produce. Now this is where you will come in. Most restaurants and large retailers require you to have a food processing plant/ building that meet certain standards in order for them to consider purchasing produce from growers. This building has to meet certain criteria to be considered certified. At the present time being that this is our second year growing, we do not have the funds needed to build a processing plant. We are seeking donations to help acheive our dream in building a facility that will enable us to sale to resturants, big retailers as well as the FARM TO SCHOOL program in our state. This processing plant will help ensure that the students in our area have fresh, homegrown, local fruits and vegatables during the whole school year. The building we are in need of is 4,500 square feet with a loading dock. It is required to have   refrigeration to keep the produce at a certain temperture.  Specific equipment is needed for us to be able to process and store the produce. The estimated cost for the building, cooler, equipment and labor would be around $65,000.00.  We are even open for material donations such as: plumbing, concrete, siding, roofing, framing, refrigeration, labor and processing equipment. If possible we would like to raise enough money to purchase a used refrigerated truck also. But our first and main goal is the processing plant with equipment and cooler. We can also use this facility for classes and  fieldtrips. The students would come to the farm and see how fresh fruits and vegatables are grown, picked and processed before they reach the table for consumption. We could also show students/seniors and consumers how to prepare fruits and vegatables using healthier cooking methods. We will also be able to employ members of the community with employment. NO DONATION IS TO SMALL OR TO LARGE. We will be apreciative of whatever you can provide. Thank you, in advance, for your donations. Sincerly, Contrina Ocampo
