Lexi’s corneal surgery

Hello everyone,

My name is elias and I am 20 years old from haifa city israel, medical student 2nd year in Iasi Romania.

I am sharing you this devastating story which happend recently to my dog lexi.

Lexi in the past 2 days 6th of july lost her ability to see with one of her eyes (her right eye) and we still dont knkw what might caused this to her.

Me and my girlfriend were buying some food , general shopping for the house.

The thing is we kept lexi on the terrace of the apartment and when we came back we saw blood on her eye and no blood spots anywhere so we couldnt know what exactly happend to her.

I asked a neighbour and my neighbour told me that lexi hit her head in a pole meanwhile crossing between his terrace and ours.

The thing is there's no object which could cause her cornea to be injured and according to my neighbour" 5th year med student" that she hit her head and it caused internal bleeding which suddenly destroyed her anterior chamber of the cornea.

I took her to the vet in iasi and the vet suggested antibiotics and eyedrops but its not that helpful, she cant perform a surgery for her.

I spoke with my dad to contact a vet in israel to see how the procedure will work and how much it cost.

The thing is the vet need to perform a surgery for her eye but it doesnt have 100% successful rate but there is a big probability that it will work.

or consist treatment for certain period of time.

The cost of the surgery is about 1500 euro according to what the vet said or each treatment goes for 150 euro each treatment he stated number of treatment will be equal almost to the cost of the surgery.

Now personally me and my girlfriend cant fund this surgery because i am still in romania and have couple of exams to do and she is supporting her parents with some debt.

And my parents cant support me with finances because they are paying my tuition for university which sums up to 5000 Euro's and also tuition for my sisters college,So Me and My girlfriend cant afford to pay for such operation in our current condition.

I am leaving to my country on 29th of july and I hooe to reach the goal by that time.

I really hope lexi will be able to see with that eye again and we all shall keep praying for her!
