Does God Want You to be Happy?

OBJECTIVE: To raise funds to cover publishing expenses for Does God Want You to be Happy? (A Christian Perspective on Overcoming Obstacles to Joy).   WHY: I am a trained Stephen Minister and elected Lay Leader at my church.  I counsel others regarding overcoming the many obstacles to joy that we all encounter at one time or another such as fear, worry, loneliness, grief, loss, envy, pride, jealousy, lust, illness and many others.  In this work I draw on my own experiences such as having Polio as a child in 1950, Colon Cancer in 1994, and Bladder Cancer in 2004. In addition,  my nephew died in a terrible auto accident, both of my daughters suffered through difficult divorces, and my father spent his last 10 years in bed with Parkinsons. I draw upon these and many other personal experiences, and then offer very specific  Bible verses related to each issue.  I provide the reader with an opportunity to reflect on God's guidelines for overcoming some to the most difficult problems that we face in our human experience. TARGET MARKET: God has "hard wired" each of us with the ability to be happy, but it is up to us to choose whether we are or not.  Fortunately, the Bible provides everything we need to overcome virtually every obstacle to joy.  This book offers clear and specific help in finding those answers for Christians who are suffering in one way or another in their lives.  It is also designed to be a wellspring of information for those who are caregivers to others.
