DoDo’s FIP life saving fundraiser

this is DoDo a male cat I rescued about 2 years ago because he had a tumor on his chest. It took me several weeks to gain his trust and finally I was able to take him to the vet for his surgery and at the same time fixing his teeth and neutered him too.

After all this was done I released him back where I found him and he disappeared for nearly a year but come back a few month ago. When I found him he weighted only 3.2 kg but now he is a big cat with 6.3kg.

He then decited to move in to our flat where he stayed until this day. He is such a mellow cat and does not causes any troubles with our other rescue cats which is really awesome.

A week ago or so I realised that he is breathing a bit heavy and after a few days of observing him I took him to the vet for a check up.

Then we got the bad news... he was diagnosed with wet FIP
(Feline Infectious Peritonitis)
a 95% fatal Corona strain disease which infects ONLY felines not any other animals or humans.

FIP is fatal in more than 95 percent of cases. In mild cases of the dry form, it may be possible to prolong the survival period, but most cats with the wet form of the disease die within two months of the onset of signs. Fortunately, the disease is very uncommon.

But there is hope as this disease could be treated with a antiviral drug.

The problem is its very very very expensive and for most people and cat lovers out of reach as it costs over 3000 euros and has to be given to the sick cat for 85 days everyday under the skin and its also painful when injected as it is a thick oily liquid but it will cure and kill the virus.

Unfortunately I'm not rich nor to I have any option of borrowing such an amount from somebody but I have a need to try anything to get this amount together with a fundraiser and I hope I can give DoDo the chance to stay alive and not to die within the next few weeks as he went through so much already before I found him.

Who ever you are where ever you are I kindly ask you if you could chip in a few euros or pounds or dollars to make this miracle come true.

I know we all go through very hard times and I know I may ask for too much but maybe you can help me to help DoDo... 🙄

Dies ist DoDo, eine männliche Katze, die ich vor ungefähr 2 Jahren gerettet habe, weil er einen Tumor auf der Brust hatte. Ich brauchte mehrere Wochen, um sein Vertrauen zu gewinnen, und schließlich konnte ich ihn zum Tierarzt für seine Operation bringen und gleichzeitig seine Zähne reparieren und ihn auch kastrieren.

Nachdem dies alles erledigt war, ließ ich ihn wieder frei dort wo ich ihn damals gefunden hatte und er verschwand für fast ein Jahr, kam aber vor ein paar Monaten zurück. Als ich ihn fand, wog er nur 3,2 kg, aber jetzt ist er ein großer Kater mit 6,3 kg.

Dann beschloss eDoDo zu uns in unsere Wohnung zu ziehen, in der er bis heute blieb. Er ist ein so sanfter Kater und verursacht keine Probleme mit unseren anderen rescue katzen, was wirklich großartig ist.

Vor ungefähr einer Woche sah ich das DoDo etwas schwer atmet, und nachdem ich ihn einige Tage lang beobachtet hatte, brachte ich ihn schließlich zum Tierarzt, um ihn untersuchen zu lassen.

Dort bekamen wir die schlechte Nachricht ... bei ihm wurde nasse FIP diagnostiziert

(Katzeninfektiöse Peritonitis)

Eine zu 95% tödliche Corona-Stammkrankheit, die NUR Katzen infiziert, keine anderen Tiere oder Menschen.

FIP ist in mehr als 95 Prozent der Fälle tödlich. In milden Fällen der trockenen Form kann es möglich sein, die Überlebenszeit etwas zu verlängern, aber die meisten Katzen mit der feuchten Form der Krankheit sterben innerhalb von zwei Monaten nach Auftreten der ersten Anzeichen. Glücklicherweise ist die Krankheit sehr selten.

Es besteht jedoch Hoffnung, da diese Krankheit mit einem antiviralen Medikament behandelt werden könnte.

Das Problem ist, dass es sehr, sehr teuer und für die meisten Katzen Eltern und Katzenliebhaber unerreichbar ist, da eine Behandlung über 3500 Euro kostet und der kranken Katze täglich 85 Tage unter die Haut gespritzt werden muss und es auch schmerzhaft ist, wenn es injiziert wird das dieses Medikament eine ölige Flüssigkeit ist aber es wird das Virus und töten und DoDo heilen ❤️

Leider bin ich weder reich noch habe ich die Möglichkeit, einen solchen Betrag von jemandem zu leihen, aber ich muss trotzdem alles versuchen, um diesen Betrag mit einer Spendenaktion zusammenzubringen, und ich hoffe, ich kann DoDo die Chance geben, am Leben zu bleiben und er nicht in den nächsten Wochen sterben muss da er schon so viel durchgemacht hat, bevor ich ihn gefunden habe.
