Since a kid, I was fascinated by technology and it's various outcomes. One thing that always struck me when I watched movies and YouTube videos was the aerial cinematography. The idea of looking at the world from such a height, looking at the world from a very different angle and kicking in a dose of imagination is ecstatic. But, during those days, a drone (that's used to capture aerial videos) was unreasonably expensive for a person like me.
But things changed in late 2016 when DJI, world's largest and best consumer drone manufacturing company announced it's new drone, DJI MAVIC PRO. It's still an expensive piece of technology but it's economical; and most importantly, it's value for money. On the day of it's launch, I decided that I'm going to get it soon. I hadn't planned what am I going to do with it, but I was sure of getting it. Then gradually I started looking at various drone footage on YouTube and lots of videos of DJI Mavic Pro to inculcate a positive vibe for it.
And it is then that the idea of making a documentary series on YouTube crossed my mind. The idea is simple, all I wish to do is to capture the essence of India from a different angle, a birds eye view to India. I have made a list of about 100 cities and places in India; these fairly cover most part of India. What I wish to do is to visit each of them, spend a day or two, explore and capture the idea of that place using my drone. It could be a 2 minute long video or a 5 minute long video (per city/place), but the purpose of looking at various places of India from a different and breathtaking angle will be fulfilled.
But to get all this started, the first thing that I need is a Drone, and that's where you guys will come to my rescue. Apart from the expenses on the drone, there will be other expenses like travelling and staying but I plan to manage that on my own.
All I need the generous people out there is to help me fulfill my dream, help me create a elegant and exquisite series on India, help me show the world what India looks like from the above. More than fulfilling my fascination for drones and aerial cinematography, it will be a step towards exploring and showcasing the beauty and marvelous creation of the planet earth.
