Doctor Dreams

Hello, my name is Jewel Rader. It has always been a dream of mine to attend medical school and eventually become a doctor. I have been given an oppurtunity to see what that would be like. In the summer of 2014 I will be attending a nine day educational experience at U.C Berkeley. While there, I will be staying on campus, meeting first year medical students, watching/doing medical procedures, and talking with doctors of all ranks about the schooling, to get some usful tips and real first hand insight. My mom up until recently (She just got Married June 27th 2013) was a single mom for me and my sister. We didn't have an easy time but my mom has always tried to make sure we have what we need. We didn't have very many luxuries. for a long time we didn't even have internet. It's gotten better, but it's still hard on us. We have a full house right now, 5 people and another on the way (my mom and New step dad are having a baby). We have all the necessities, but this trip of a lifetime is costing a great deal. My family is trying thier hardest to fufill my dream, but I fear this is a dream that needs a few helping-hands. I would be forever gratefull to anyone who is willing to spare any amount of money to help further my education and prepare me for the rough life of a medical student. Thank you for any help given. I have already raised $500 out of the $2,400 needed by June 2014. I will continue to work my hardest in raising funds. I am doing babysitting, house cleaning, and yard work, and if you need any of those done I'll be glad to donate my time if you can donate a few dollars to help my reach my goal.
