Kaloleni Borehole Project
The project is the drilling of a new water borehole and building of a water reserve tank in Bamba, Kilifi/Kaloleni County, Kenya
Our vision is to contribute to the less fortunate communities in Kenya improve the quality of their lives. We focus on helping provide basic needs in a sustainable manner to help encourage growth within the community.
We know we cannot end hunger or poverty though we have been inspired allot by a brother by the name of ALI BANAT the guy whose story went viral, the guy "gifted with cancer", A multi-millionaire who has donated all his assets to the needy before he passed away a few weeks ago. After all, doing it with your own hands has a magical feeling to it, it feels great. It gives you a satisfaction from within which words can't describe.
However, one day we were on a mission in a village called Bamba, just few miles away in the rural areas of Mombasa City, Kenya's second biggest city, distributing sanitary towels at a Girl's school when we came across something so heart-breaking. This old man, Chengo, is a father of six, though everyday he has to walk about 10 kilometers ( about 6.2miles) with a heavy water container on his back to take water home.
Many women and children are also forced to do this to seek for water and the water they find is often not good for human consumption but since they do not have any options they do consume it hence the rising of various diseases such as typhoid fever among other water borne diseases.
We have come together with several partners in this project to build them a borehole. We have done all the calculations with drilling contractors, the borehole will have to go 180 meters deep (about 590 feet) since water was found at a very hard/rocky area it is more difficult and costly to dig explaining why they haven't been helped. We are looking forward for your support , truly to help these people and we are sure a good deed will be rewarded generously by God. So anything you have to contribute will be greatly appreciated, be it 1USD.
Borehole project cost: $25,000
Cash from donations recieved : $9,900
We wish and pray it reaches everyone out there worldwide to help us reach our goal.
We are compiling a list of new locations, where we plan to dig new boreholes in the near future. Only 30% of Kenyans have access to improved sanitation.
God Bless you all & thank you all in advance!
