Dith-dith’s fight for Lupus

I am so happy that there are people who are willing to help each and one of us in need. But I am so sad that Hospitals wont be able to fully assist your bills through Government help.

I am a 22 year old Female Filipina who lives in the province of Agusan Del Norte. I have been diagnosed with lupus. I have this illness for almost 5 years now coping up with this illness everyday is hard all the inflamed parts of my body aches and its really hard to move my body specially it's not flexible anymore unlike when I was normal.

Last April I have been rushed to the Provincial hospital due to difficulty in breathing and my heart hurts every time I breath Everything on my body hurts that day. The Doctors told me that I have something on my Lungs which is identified as phlegm, so they decided to operate on my lungs to remove the phlegm permanently and for me to breath comfortably because its really hard to breath. As they operated on me the doctors where dumbfounded that there aren't any phlegm on my lungs and they already opened the right side of my body SHOCKS! My Father was so angry he wanted to sue the doctor for performing a malpractice on a patient but we cant because we signed a waver for the operation.

As days pass by I was still struggling breathing and my heart still hurts the doctors told me that I have to get an ultrasound for my chest area and so we did. For me to stop struggling from breathing I have to use a nebulizer which the whole hospital only has 3 nebulizers, every night my father looks for the nebulizer for me to use. The ultrasound was not clear because they were only using cheap medical equipment because we are at a provincial Hospital. But the doctors identified that there was water surrounding my Heart. BTW I am also suffering here because I have a skin disease my butt, elbows, armpits hurt its indescribable I have hard white layer of outer skin which is really hard its like an eggshell and beneath the white layered skin is my skin which has wounds. Lets get back to the topic as I was saying the Doctors recommended us to go to another Hospital because they don't have any cardiologist in that hospital. It was hard to transfer to another hospital because were struggling financially we cant pay for the hospital bills even if its just the provincial hospital which is way more cheaper. So we waited a couple of days for Help from the government and also we pay our pocket money.

We transferred to another Hospital its a private Hospital which is expensive we are already struggling paying for the previous Bill and now were at a private hospital which is expensive. But it doesn't matter because it life and death situation. As we arrived to the hospital through an ambulance the doctors and nurse immediately assist us they changed my IV fluids and bandages etc. for a cleaner one. I was interviewed what I was feeling and given the needed treatment. The next day I was immediately rushed to a room where I talked with the Doctor he told me I needed to have an ultrasound again for my heart and after that the results came out that there was water surrounding my heart. The Doctor immediately decides to operate on me that day. I was relieved because of thinking that I will be able to breath comfortably after the operation.

The doctor operated on me for 2 hours with pericardial effusion. I was fully awake while they operated on me I can hear there chit chats. They cant give me medicines for sleep because I might not be able to wake up if they give me one. The operation was finished. As I was waiting at the waiting room I was wondering whether my father already knew that the operation was already finished. The operation was SUCCESFUL! I can now breath comfortably I was so Happy. I was really happy that day and I can finally eat, I can't eat because I'm out if breath whenever I eat. We were happy happy that I can now breath comfortably but the problem also starts now the hospitals bills goes up to more than 300,000 pesos we cant afford that!!! we have nothing plus there are daily medications needed more than 6,000 per day. We have nothing to ask for help but the Government they were able to help us but the Doctors talent fee is whats were worrying about we have to pay for it on our own money. So it took us a couple of days before we got out from the hospital we have to get loan from my sisters company to be able to pay the doctors the doctors talent fee was about 200,000 pesos.

I am now out in the hospital but that doesn't mean the treatment stops. I have to get a monthly check up with a doctor which is in another city because we don't have any Rheumatologist doctor her in our city. I have to travel for hours by bus just to get there for cheaper expenses. I also have my daily medications which is expensive. I have to get Lab results like 2dEcho, ANA and etc . needed for lupus.

There is no Treatment on this disease but It can be managed by medications and daily check-ups that's why I'm knocking on your doors to financially help me get through this. I am not in a hurry for donations you can take your time. This will greatly help me and my Family to afford the financial need for medications and treatments.

I am now on my daily life still struggling with the inflammations this disease is causing. My physical appearance is also not the same as before, I am now Fat because of the medication which causes me to eat a lot. But I still need help financially for the needed treatment.

Any amount will be accepted by heart this will surely help me to live a longer life because there might be any kidney complications happening.
