For my 40th birthday I would like to raise funds for my local animal hospital (PACS) which looks after all the stray animals on the island. The hospital is run mostly on volunteer basis. Apart from providing medical treatment to animals in need, the hospital provides large scale neutering and vaccinations. Thanks to PACS, our island is rabies free.
PACS tries to sterilize at least 30 animals per month, besides that 100+ Rabies vaccines per month.
PACS - Phangan Animal Care For Strays Foundation is a non-profit organization operating on the island of Koh Phangan in Thailand. An animal hospital that provides life-saving medical treatment, vaccinations, and sterilizations to stray and wild animals of Koh Phangan.
They receive no government funding and rely entirely on donations and volunteers to provide these vital services to the animals of the island.
Their many monthly expenses would be so much easier to handle with regular sponsorship - by donating a small amount monthly, you can help us to fulfil our mission
I (Dita) was born in former Czechoslovakia behind the iron curtain. At the age of 10 the curtain fell down and without me realizing at that time, the whole world opened to me. As soon as I turned 20, I left my country for a 2 year trip which extended to 20 years. I became a behavioral analyst by training. I applied my skills to work with children that have autism and other developmental disabilities around the world. I fell in love with South East Asia 10 years ago and this is where I still feel at home. I love animals (I have 3 cats and would love to have more) and I am always supporting causes fighting for animal rights around the world, especially in Asia where Iam backing campaigns to end the dog and cat meat trade.
