Hi, my name is Spencer and I am a 43 year old father of 2. Over the last 7 years I have significant health problems. I have had a bowel disease called ulcerative colitis since I was in my 20s but in my 30's I also developed an associated disease called primary schlerosing cholangitis. This caused liver damage to the point where in 2009 I received a successful liver transplant. Unfortunately my bowel problem continued to get worse and I had my entire colon removed in 3 staged surgeries in 2010 and 2011. Since then I have continued to have bowel problems and am often admitted to hospital with dehydration. Over the last couple of years I have developed an irregular heartbeat, and have been admitted to hospital 3 times this year to have my heart rhythm corrected by cardioversion (where they put you to sleep and shock the heart) Due to my health I am not well enough to work, however the British government doesn't think I am ill enough to receive disability benefits. My wife is therefore the sole breadwinner, (she is a hospice nurse so doesn't earn a great deal)  As I already said, I am a father of 2, a 12 year old boy and a 10 year old girl. They have been through so much because of my health and my wife and I have been saving up for 7 years to take them to Disney world and have reached our goal to pay for the holiday. However, due to my ill health the cost of travel insurance is phenomenal, around £2000, and as it stands we don't have enough money to pay for this on top. We are therefore asking for help to pay for the insurance to enable us to take our children on the holiday of a lifetime.
