HOW WE GOT HERE

As many of you know, a year ago we spent two months in India, teaching frisbee and English to kids from Varanasi schools. The project was a huge success also thanks to the many donors who supported us both through GoGetFunding and through offline donations. MEET MANÙ and HIS FAMILY

During our stay in Varansi, we met a lot of very special people and one of them was, without a doubt, Manù, a fourteen-year-old who participated to all of our Frisbee lessons. He got really excited about frisbee and he was an incredible help for us, acting as our interpreter from English to Hindi and viceversa. We established a deep relationship with him and with his family, who was so kind to invite us over for dinner twice. Needless to say, the food we tasted at their home was the most delicious we had in India. The atmosphere was really welcoming and we were treated like gods. Manù's dad, Kedar, gave us many gifts and one of them was a handmade tapestry he did, which is now hanging in our living room.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

Manù always kept in contact with us over these months and he even prayed for us during Freestyle Frisbee World Champs in Medellin :) He recently wrote us asking for some help. His mum, Babli, has a heart condition and she needs special treatment and surgery in mid-January.

The family was able to gather most of the sum needed, but they still need a bit of help which translates in about 750€. It's not a huge amount and I am positive that with a little bit of help from each one of you, we will get to it very soon. Health conditions can lead to dramatic effects, and this is especially true in a country like India. Let's help this wonderful family and this young frisbee player.

COME SIAMO ARRIVATI FINO A QUI

Come molti di voi sapranno, un anno fa siamo stati due mesi in India per insegnare il frisbee e l'inglese ai bambini di alcune scuole di Varanasi. Il progetto è stato un grande successo grazie ai numerosi donatori che ci hanno sostenuto sia tramite GoGetFunding che tramite donazioni offline. MANÙ e la sua FAMIGLIA

Durante la nostra permanenza a Varanasi, abbiamo conosciuto molte persone speciali e una di queste è, senza ombra di dubbio, Manù, un ragazzino di quattordici anni che ha partecipato a tutte le nostre lezioni di Frisbee. Il Frisbee l'ha letteralmente rapito, e Manù ci è stato anche di grande aiuto come interprete inglese - hindi e viceversa. Abbiamo creato un legame profondo con lui e con la sua famiglia e siamo stati a cena da loro per ben due volte. Inutile dire che sono stati i pasti più deliziosi di tutto il nostro soggiorno indiano. L'atmosfera era molto accogliente e siamo stati trattati come delle divinità. Il papà di Manù, Kedar, ci ha riempiti di regali e ci ha donato un arazzo fatto a mano da lui, che ora fa la sua bella figura nel nostro salotto.

PERCHÉ ABBIAMO BISOGNO DEL VOSTRO AIUTO

Manù non ha mai smesso di scriverci nel corso di questi mesi e ha addirittura pregato per noi durante i Mondiali di Freestyle Frisbee di Medellin :). Poco tempo fa ci ha scritto chiedendoci aiuto: sua mamma, Babli, ha un problema cardiaco e ha bisogno di cure speciali e di un intervento chirurgico programmato per metà gennaio.

La famiglia è riuscita a racimolare la maggior parte della somma necessaria, ma ha ancora bisogno di un piccolo aiuto equiuvalente a circa 750€. Non è una somma eccessiva e sono convinta che con un minimo aiuto da parte di tutti voi, riusciremo a raggiungere questo traguardo molto presto. I problemi di salute possono avere risvolti drammatici, soprattutto in un paese come l'India. Aiutiamo questa famiglia speciale e questo giovane giocatore di frisbee.
