Campaign Story
My mom lives in Kingsland, TX in her dream home. It's a beautiful place and wonderful community. She adores it very much. Unfortunately, her home was submerged in 4 feet of water from the swollen Colorado River on Tuesday, Oct 16th. Fortunately, she and my step-dad escaped in time however the damage done is tremendous.
They woke at 6:30a and immediately realized water was at their door and got out fast and left everything behind. So much has been lost. Furniture, appliances, clothes, car, lawn mowers, pots, pans, refrigerator, computers, everything except the ceiling fans and paintings on the wall, etc.
Already so many people in Kingsland have rallied around them with food, shelter, comfort and love. A very generous friend who owns a construction company already has a demolition crew onsite ripping out sheetrock to begin the rebuild and recovery process. Donations in the community are already being started and I wanted to do my small but meaningful part to ask my friends around the country to please make a donation and help us get my parents back on their feet.
Their spirits are so strong right now because of the generous outpouring of support coming their way and Megan and I cannot thank you enough for helping us keep the momentum going.
Best regards,
Scott Wessels
