We are very happy to let you know that we have distributed the supplies to affected refugees! Here are some photos from our colleagues working in the camp. We couldn't have done this without you.

A big thank you to all the kind and wonderful donors. We have reached 20% of our fundraising goal...and we couldn't have done that without you!

KNWO is in the process of gathering the following much-needed supplies for the affected refugees:

  • Longyis for men and women (a longyi is an all-purpose garment)
  • Umbrellas (it is the wet season; camp 2 was recently flooded)
  • Laundry powder
  • Dishwashing soap
  • Soap
  • Blankets

The supplies will be distributed all in one go soon, as organising and transporting things in the refugee camp is not without its difficulties.

The bags for students that we intended to get previously have been kindly provided by Jesuit Refugee Service.

Once again, thank you so much for your support!

Thank you everyone for your kind donations so far! We have raised a gross total of SGD625 (nett amount SGD598 after third-party transaction & administration fees) so far.

This will be a great help to our Karenni friends affected by the fire. The amount has been remitted from Singapore to KNWO's (Karenni National Women's Organisation) bank account on Friday, 14 July 2017. They should receive the funds by Tuesday, 18 July 2017.

This amount will be enough to cover the purchase of pillows and blankets for the affected refugees. They will purchase these once the funds have been received and distribute it ASAP. You have made a big difference! Thank you so much.

As updated on Facebook, KNWO has distributed some basic hygiene supplies and provided counselling. KNWO will continue with the counselling- they will visit the houses where the displaced refugees are currently staying to provide them one-to-one counselling.

Our next target is to provide some basic clothes (longyis) for everyone and bags for the students (necessary for them to continue schooling!). This will cost an estimated 23000 THB (SGD 934/ USD 681).

Please help us help them! Thank you.
