Disabled Father Injured By Others

Father injured by others. They are unable to take financial responsibility. He has Suffered Traumatic Brain Injury, Traumatic Brain Injury Coup Contreoup, PTSD, Cervicalgia, and Traumatic Trigeminal Neuralgia.

He is Now Disabled due to it. Still fighting to overcome the problems these injuries cause. There are 14 Symptoms related to the Traumatic Brain Injury that are present 24/7.

He battles each day with:
Lower Behind Eye Pressure
Direct Eye Pain
Confusion
Blurriness
Fogginess With Thought
Severe Headaches - Pressure Headaches
PTSD - Anxiety, Stress and Worry
Exhaustion - Tired and Weak
Nausea
Forgetfulness - Especially Short Term
Speech
Balance - Dizzy - Lightheaded
Mood Issues
Ear Ringing

He had always provided for the family while taking care of another family member that is partially disabled. Has always taken care of others and loved doing it. He really loved working. Seeing what he could do and providing for clients was an exciting satisfaction. If people needed donations, volunteer for neighbors, and just lending a hand – he was there. No questions asked.

Has been doing every treatment possible to overcome this so he can get back to work and keep from losing everything he has spent 36 years working for. He has been told that he this is Permanent. There is question to whether all the treatments, medication, and supplements will eventually work for some of it. All they say is, it is helping to keep things at a level. Permanent Disability is the level. When he notices some improvement, it seems to only last for a day or so. Of course he said he will take what he can get even if only for a short time.

Don’t know how to explain this without typing too much. Maybe some of you will understand this. When this happened and was diagnosed, he said he was determined with treatment to overcome. Still has that mindset and is what keeps him going.

Here is the a brief description of what has led here:
Accident caused by another party.
Learned of Disability.
Was told to file for Disability Assistance with Social Security.
Filing and Hearing Process will take 24-36 months or more.
Upon Approval (3-12 months before receiving). Will be very minimal unfortunately.
Borrowing not an option. Outside family members are working with little left to contribute.
No income – No Longer qualify for Health Insurance.
No income – No Longer can afford Home or Housing.
No income – Do not qualify for Medicare while waiting.
No Income for Medication and/or Care.
No income to qualify for loan.
No income means no qualifying for Credit or Credit Cards to get by on after loss of income.
Bankruptcy, Foreclosures and Liens, by no fault of own. Just the system.
Have sold household items, personal items, etc.

He is the backbone of the family.

Can he use the financial help? Yes. Would he go out and ask for it? No. He feels if he can still wake up in the morning, then that is a sign he will somehow beat all this and prove the medical expertsHis attitude is that there are more deserving people out there that need help.

Was told to put how much has been spent and is owed for treatments up to this point. It is shocking what it has cost in the last few years. The debt at this point is over $150,000.00. Can’t predict what the future will be, just living at the moment.
