Disabled athletes

Hello guys, I am a student in London doing a volunteering project in Indonesia right now. I work with disabled athletes that train at basketball, rugby, lawn bowl, hand-cycling and other sports for major competitions across Indonesia and Asia. They do not have the necessary sports equipments to achieve performance, even though they have had some great achievements in the past years. I have never seen such hardworking and motivated people in my life. They have a normal life, they are so active even if some of them had their legs amputated or are unable to use their hands/fingers, you could see the sparkle in their eyes and the desire to work to become a better athlete. Before having this experience I thought to myself that i have a lot of problems and life is not fair at some point, but seeing how these people handle life and how happy and grateful they are for what they have ( mention must be made that they are disabled) makes you ask yourself a lot of questions.

Therefore, I am trying to raise awareness and help these disabled athletes to have a better training environment. Thank you to everyone that wants to support this cause and for those interested in the foundation, athletes and want to see more pictures regarding the environment and what we do in Indonesia do not hesitate to contact me.

Buna ziua, fac parte dintr-un program de voluntariat din Indonezia unde ajut atletii cu dezabilitati sa isi indeplineasca visu, acela de a reusi sa castige medalii la competitii importante, dar si de ai ajuta sa duca o viata perfect normala. Conditiile de aici sunt limitate: sportivii nu au inca echipamentele si aparatura necesara pentru a putea face perforanta in adevaratul sens al cuvantului, guvernul nu acorda atentie deloc acestei probleme. Am fost placut impresionat cand am ajuns aici si am descoperit cat de fericiti si simpli sunt oamenii, desi nu se pot deplasa decat cu ajutorul scaunului cu rotile. Totodata dorinta lor de a munci si de a se antrena zilnic pentru a deveni cei mai buni, sunt cateva caracteristici care ne lipsesc multora dintre noi. Imi doresc sa pot sa ii ajut cat mai mult posibil, pentru ca merita si pentru ca isi depasesc conditia in fiecare zi in incercarea de a devenii o persoana mai buna. Apelez pe aceasta cale la dumneavoastra, publicul larg, care ar putea contribui cu orice suma pentru a indeplini visele unor oameni care sunt un exemplu pentru noi toti.
