Hey thanks, for checking this out, My names Joe I'm 30 years old and suffer from an extremely rare Birth defect call Tarsal-Coalition, In the simplest terms When your Developing With in The womb your ankle/Ankles become partially fused, As you grow, it becomes more fused, developing severe arthritis by the time your 11 or 12 yrs of age, To add to the issues my pediatrician for many years simply told it me and my parents it was only growing pains, so being my family's trusted Dr.We believed them, after 3-4 years as it got worse and now i'm 13-14 and its causing me so much pain i am missing school dropping out of sports, we go to an orthopedic specialist, were he says you have a rare disease cal tl coalition, its extremely rare and you have it in both feet, he says get surgery so i got to Philadelphia children's hospital and get two surgery's over two years, a pressure where they remove bone from my joint, where the joint it fused, and cut muscle off the interior side of my foot, and kinda slide it through to separate the bones from growing back...Well i was older then the time this surgery should have been preformed they say up until 9-10 yrs old because your bones are not fully developed, plus the worst thing happend that could have which also is rare the muscle they cut calciumized and formed to the bones refusing it worse because no i have a section of bone missing and my foot is now positioned wrong, and both of my ankles went through this.... my entire adolescent years i was subject to extreme sever pain, and chronic pain legitimate or not no dr is going to give daily pain medication to a child/teenager., so i went through a lot of pain, after high school i tryd to become a licensed electrician, doing my best to have a career because i was told at a young age, this condition is only going to get worse, and you will have more and more limitations, By the Age of 40, I have found out that that is true...I was give an option by an Orthopedic Surgeon, at UCSD Hospital It is called a Triple Arthodetis, They Completely Fuse All Three of the four Joints in my Ankle, He said you have a 25-30% chance that it will even be successful, Oh and since 3 of your joints are fused your going to put Tromedis stress on you one Good Joint and with in Five years, you'll need a Complete Joint replacement, I have try'd everything Surgery's, Braces, Custom Foot orthopedics, Custom Medical Shoes, I have been through all that, still Medically there is not much they can Do or Accomplish at this point in time..But the Biggest issue With this deseise is My Daily life, When i wake up in the morning I go through what i have come to call the"Thawing Off Process" Let me Explain, When i Go to sleep and either lay in a bed or chair, As soon as I'm not longer standing on my feet, The bones in my ankles become Misaligned ,Which in itself causes sever pain, but when i try to stand on them in the morning, it Moves from sever o Unbearable, It Can last any where from 20-mins to 2 Hours, before i can bare any weight on them, so say i had a Job and I had to b at work at 7:30AM After 4 or 5 times not being able to show up at work on time for an employee, My condition Makes me Not reliable At a Specific time, and this is very frustrating because I am a Hard working, and Simply want to Work Support my self, and Have and live a normal life as many people do, I mean I Look around and See People my age Settling down Getting married having Children, No matter how back I want that, It Would Be selfish of me and irresponsible, to Have a Wife and Produce Children That I could Not Provide For, And that is something i will not do, But Over the years Ive talk to maybe 7 or 8 people that have this condition, And they all are in the same situation I am in, Having the same Problems Physically, and the same issues in general Life, Just Hoping and Waiting to Simply live a normal life.... The Only way I am Going to Be able to Live A normal Life, and support my self is to be able to become self Employed, Because i can Schedule things Around My Condition, I'm An Extremely Hard Worker, Driven, But What I don't Have is Money, And I do Not come from a wealthy Family ,and haven't Won The Lottery yet So If Your Reading This, And You are in the Position to Help Someone Please Let it be Me, Here is What I plan to do When I reach My Goal I want to start a Logistics Business, At First By a truck and Drive , Then Eventually Buy a couple more trucks and Hire some Employees, Right now I'm Barley Making it, I just spent he Last 2 1/2 years caring for my sick grandmother who had dementia, she just passed last January, I Live in A House with my mother who is retired and only get $749 on Social Security, And My Father who is Totally disabled who gets $742 from SSD do the math for Three Adults That is not enough money we barley get By, So if you can Help and Donate, You would Be Changing My Life.... Thank You For Reading And God Bless You Joe....
