Diploma film shooting

My name is Sofiya Kudryavtseva and I am a third year student at Warsaw Film School International Directing Program. My goal is to shoot the final Diploma film to graduate successfully.

WHAT IS THE PROJECT ABOUT?

My Diploma work is a short fiction film called "Morning". It tells a story about a young female artist, Adela, who seeks inspiration for her painting. Adela meets with people of different age and background hoping that one of their stories could spark the needed idea inside of her. At first it looks like a straightforward task: Adela believes she can study the life and then simply portray it. As the story unfolds, however, the artist realises that it is imposible for her to stay an impartial observer. Moreover, the emotional state of her "muses" affects her immediately. Adela has to make a tough choice whether to disregard the feelings of the objects of her inspiration and her own idea of morality but finish the painting or to resign from the project that she has put so much effort into and that she really believes in as an artist.

"Morning" is a very personal film - which should not be hard to tell from its description. The story is based on my private experience, and in some sense concludes the most important thing I have learned while studying film: what it takes to be an artist. Hence, I feel strongly about this story and I believe it is worth to be told.

WHY DO I NEED YOUR HELP?

Our course is the first to graduate nationally from a film directing course that was taught in English. There are no examples of works or anyone to consult us or share experience on how to fund our works (the school does not support these projects financially). Yet, it is a commonly known fact that to make a good film takes a great effort and a great dedication but also a certain budget.

It is always hard to be a pioneer in whatever it is. In addition, it means that, being first, you are the one to set the standard. Therefore, there is the responsibility.

Currently I have done 50% of the work but it seems I do not have enough resourses to continue and finish it.
