My name is Edward Chamberlain-Bell. I'm a foodie, blogger, radio contributor, and digital marketer who enjoys promoting restaurants through social media activations.

I'm crowdfunding to raise funds to support local restaurants in Johannesburg after the COVID lockdowns have been lifted. Our support will include financial relief, social media marketing and influencer marketing to promote restaurants to as many people as possible. People can track these activations online through the hashtags #DineJoziStyle and #RestaurantReboot.

All funds will be donated to local restaurants to provide a significant cash injection which can used debt relief, paying their staff, suppliers, and landlords. Coupled with influencer marketing, it will also raise awareness about restaurants that are open for business after the COVID.

Historically, a #DineJoziStyle social media activation reaches between 275,000 to 800,000 people online. It is the most cost-effective way to market a restaurant and engage potential diners.

All funds raised will be donated to randomly selected restaurants in Johannesburg. I am hoping to raise between R5,000 or R10,000 per restaurant.

Restaurants will be local eateries with a commitment to supporting local producers and sustainability.

Neither I, nor media guests, will benefit financially from any donations, except to to provide online support promoting restaurants.

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has confirmed that there will be no taxes on donations provided they are fully documented and declared.

In the interests of transparency, all incoming and outgoing donations will be declared publicly online.

10% of all donations will be donated to StreetSmart South Africa who collaborate with restaurants to raise funds for street children programmes, aiding their sustainable reintegration into society.
