Dialogue For Changemakers

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

The project "Dialogue for Changemakers" is a leadership program organized by some Pakistani students. This program is currently happening under the organization of "Wonder Y", which aims to develop leadership qualities through arranging programs that result in enhancing boundaries of individuals to listen, to be heard, and to learn. The goal of the current program; "Dialogue for changemakers" is to create comfortable spaces for people where they learn acceptance, empathy, and inclusivity, and inculcate that in their personal lives which helps them grow as better and more aware individuals ready to make a change in their society. Through dialogue, the participants interact with each other and gain insights about the issues that surround their communities, it helps them build a greater level of trust and understanding and they end up becoming each other's support system.

CONCEPT OF DIALOGUE:

The concept of dialogue is to have individuals having lines of differences and conflicts just sit together and listen to each other in order to gain a new perspective leading one to empathize. These conflicts are present in our surroundings and our goal is to help individuals realize that they do hold a certain privilege and they can help others with that. Dialogue is a process that provides the participants with a platform to voice their opinions and have a constructive discussion around the issues that surround them; something that is very rarely provided in Pakistani society.

Being individuals who themselves have experienced dialogue in its rawest form, we know and understand the power of impact it holds and we wanted to bring something like that in our country, to help build a safer, more inclusive society. We want to create a domino effect of change-making in society: when one person experiences dialogue, it activates him to make a change in his surroundings and hence the effect passes on as these individuals interact with new people and help them understand and build empathy. We believe in it because we are experiencing that; we went through the process of dialogue and here we are trying to make a positive dent in our society. This program will end up helping and growing a lot of individuals and bring change for them on a very personal level which would develop leadership qualities in them.

HOW YOU CAN HELP US:

"Dialogue for changemakers" is a very different yet yielding initiative that we have taken and we certainly hope that people would help us create an impact on other individuals through funding us. Let us all join our hands and help lift each other up because that is the only way to do better and we want to believe that together we can do that.
