One day I woke up with numbness on my whole left side of my body. A few days later, my speech was beginning to be slurred. Having no health insurance, I hesitated going to the doctor due to medical expenses. But it got so bad my family convinced me I needed to go. After an ER visit, blood work, EKG, a CT scan, an MRI, and multiple visits to a neurologist, my medical expenses are already through the roof. Turns out I have a very large brain lesion which is impairing my left side of my body, including numerous other smaller lesions that I apparently had for years but never really had any symptoms.

Getting a medical diagnosis of MS is devastating enough at age of 29, especially how this disease disables the person so they can not function or work. I had no medical insurance to help as I had to start immediate treatment to help with my MS symptoms. The emergency room, the MRI's, other medical testing, and the specialists has devastated myself and my family financially. I have signed up for Healthcare.gov in January which is MORE money a month but I need it for this new diagnosis. I will get some help from Insurance, as long as Congress doesn't change it. My treatment started in December 2017 with steroidal infusions for 5 days to help with my symptoms so I could function. After the treatments, I will have to be put on a medication that I have to take for the rest of my life that will be very expensive not to mention MRI's which I have had 3 so far. It will be an ongoing struggle for me as there is no real cure for MS, and the cost of the monthly premiums and deductibles is very high for those of us who have to get our own medical insurance through Healthcare.gov. I already feel and have always felt the fatigue that comes along with the MS big time.

The costs for my treatment is very high as you can imagine, and my family and I face a long road ahead. My illness came on very severely and is likely to get worse. Please help with any donation that you can so I can continue to get the treatment I need. Thank you.

*Update*

To add more stress to this diagnosis of MS, I just got diagnosed with an enlarged spleen so I had an MRI for that and next is a CT scan and a couple of appointments to rule out surgery and cancer. I also was diagnosed with degenerative bulging disc disease, osteoarthritis and mild scoliosis which explains my neck/back pain. So much has come at once and it is a lot to take in especially at a young age. Please keep me in your prayers as well.
