It is estimated that 415 million people are living with diabetes in the world, which is estimated to be 1 in 11 of the world’s adult population. 46% of people with diabetes are undiagnosed. The figure is expected to rise to 642 million people living with diabetes worldwide by 2040.

Our aim at Diabetes SA (Pretoria branch) is to stop this from happening. We inform, educate and support all people who have diabetes and their families. We act as an advocate for people with diabetes, lobbying for better facilities, cheaper medication and better health services We also promote prevention through public awareness on diabetes, its symptoms and risk factors.

Diabetes SA is primarily a volunteer organisation and relies heavily on people with diabetes and their families who pool their talents, share their knowledge and experiences and give of their time to help each other. We need your help world, to get to those who are undiagnosed before it's too late.

The little you donate could go a long way - you could safe a woman the pain of a miscarriage, you could save a child from being born with respiratory distress syndrome (RDS), cardiovascular issues, and problems affecting development of the brain, spine, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract, limbs, and mouth. You could save someone from going blind, you can also save someone's limb and you could save someone from waiting on a kidney donation list.
