There is a pressing need in South Africa to develop our education standard. We do not have sufficient libraries or learning centres that offer homework assistance or a go-to place for kids to develop cognitive and technical skills.
We see children getting involved in drug and alcohol abuse daily and this is because we have not invested much in the development of children in our society. Not every parent can afford a school in the surburbs, were the level of education differs from that of a school in a rural area. All children deserve an opportunity to learn something as basic as conversing and reading in English.
The ideal learning centre should enable children to partake in weekend activities such as additional English lessons, assistance with homework, specifically pertaining the English language. We are also passionate about driving Emotional Intelligence as it has proven to be a tool that enables us to become individuals who are able to make rational decisions.
In order to ensure that we mitigate these impedements that hinder the growth of our children, it has become imperative for me to start making the change and working towards building a learning centre in the heart of Soweto, Johannesburg.
I am looking to collect readers, teaching boards, stationery, arts and craft material, dictionaries, encyclopedia's, bean bags, tables, chairs, and to be able to feed the children who may have walked into the centre and has not eaten - this too happens and a change needs to be made.
Please help me make the difference and give each child an opportunity to be a person of substance. I am launching the iLearn 4 Kids programme in September 2019. All and any donations will be appreciated to make this cause a better one.
