This fundraising is for the children attending the government school in the village Dixcove in Ghana. My name is Leo Lundbladh, I am a student in International Relations and Affairs at Sciences Po and currently living in the village Busua, southwest of Ghana.
In the neighbouring village Dixcove, schoolchildren are left sitting on the floor. There are not enough desks and benches to support these young children's learning, not only making it hard to take notes and follow the teacher's instructions but imposes great health risks.
The government school in Dixcove holds a capacity of 120 kindergarden students, 540 primary students and 210 secondary school students. In total, 870 children are attending poor conditions during difficult circumstances in a school with no resources to finance adequate qualities of schooling.
Progress will be updated continuously by posts and pictures on GoGetFunding's website. Once money starts coming in, the wooden material needed to build school- desks and benches can be bought by local wood suppliers in the village.
