Permaculture Research PH (PRPH) is an independent research initiative formed in Los Banos, Laguna in 2015. Led by a graduate student from the University of the Philippines Open University, the intention of the group was to spark interest in the scientific study of permaculture design in the country.

We define permaculture as a regenerative design framework based on whole systems thinking, observation of natural patterns, the creative use of multi-functional components, biomimicry, and the application of ecological design principles in, but not limited to, the management of food systems.

To put it simply, permaculture is a design for sustainable living.

The main goal of the group is to study and document permaculture designs all over the Philippines.

This year we will be visiting permaculture sites in Quezon, Nueva Ecija, Laguna, Metro Manila, Mt. Province, Isabela, Palawan, Antique, Cebu, La Union, and Zamboanga del Sur.

We hope to visit more sites next year (2019 onwards) and monitor the progress of sites previously visited.

With your help via our crowdfunding campaign (minimum donation of Php 1.00 only), we can visit more sites, purchase equipment, and take care of the welfare of our research team.

Just came back from Pitogo, Quezon

Update posted by Jabez Joshua Flores at 06:33 am

Aug. 31 - Sept. 2. Some reflections: - Permaculture is not just about farming...it's a life you live. It's not just about the application of knowledge but the internalization of values. - The designer and the design have a close relationship. Through experience and observation, the design evolves through time.. . . . .
