Dereham 2 Borneo, Student Volunteering Trip

Hello, we are a group of students from Dereham Sixth Form in Norfolk. Along with Camps International, we are planning to volunteer in Borneo where we will work alongside local communities to help improve living conditions, the local environment and surrounding habitats. This 4-week long volunteering experience is taking place in summer 2017, after we have sat our final A-Level exams.

While we are in Borneo we get the opportunity to form relationships with the locals, make improvements that are vital to the development of their community and support the Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary. We will also help with the ever growing issue of deforestation and try to reduce the impacts of this on the surrounding wildlife.

We are hoping to raise the funds for this project through our own savings, work and fundraising events throughout the year. However, as we are a group of students any donations to help towards the costs would be hugely appreciated! All donations received through this fundraising page will be shared between all of the student volunteers.

This will be a life changing opportunity for all of us, but we also hope to make a bigger impact on the local's lives and future, as well as the country's magnificent rain forest.
