Imagine this, Your six year old walks up to you & says, "Mommy, why are you always sad? Why do you never smile?" As a Mom, it breaks your heart to realize that your Baby Girl sees you as SAD. When the truth is, you could not be happier. Despite being a single Mom, working over 40 hrs a wk for $13 an hr, being dead tired & flat broke at the end of the wk only to get up & do it all over again...YOU COULD NOT POSSIBLY WANT FOR ANYTHING!! You have a beautiful blue eyed little girl who melts your heart & makes you...NO...YOU CANNOT SMILE!!!

Our children are innocent & see the world in black & white, here & now, I want & I need...NOW!!! So when you tuck your six yr old in, prayers are said & goodnight kisses given, you turn the light off & quietly pull the door closed as you hear your little girls voice say,

Jesus or Santa...I do not know if either of you are still awake...I think it's kinda late. Mommy said it was 30 mins past my bedtime already and I am supposed to be IN BED by 8:00 so I think the sun will be waking up soon. I just wanted to add one more present to my Christmas list. It's NOT for me. It's for my Mommy. Can you ask your Elves to make my Mommy a new smile for Christmas? I know it's almost Christmas but I thought since Santa makes presents & Jesus makes miracles, then if you use the Buddy System like we do in my first grade class, then together y'all could make my Mommy a smile in time for Christmas morning.

Think about wanting to join in the smiling, laughing & joyous times...but you cannot. Your teeth are so bad, you never smile. If you have to say more than a couple of words, you put your hand in front of your mouth to hide the embarrassment. That promotion & pay raise that you could REALLY use...and are totally qualified for with your degree in finance/accounting, but will not put in for the job bc it means dealing with the other top level associates & clients & you cannot possibly work & do your job efficiently if you cannot even look PPL in the eyes. Imagine not being able to go sit in a restaurant to eat bc you are afraid the crowns or few teeth you have left are going to fall out or break right there at the table. Going to your child's school functions are a struggle at best bc you do not want to seem disconnected but at the same time you do not want to scare the six yr olds to death when you open your mouth. So you shut yourself off from the outside world other than necessary interactions...and life goes on without you.

''Tis the Season For Giving. As you try to decide how to donate & disburse your charitable contributions this season, consider helping a lil blue-eyed girls Christmas Miracle come true. Help our community give this Mom a new SMILE so she can publicly & openly express her happiness & laugh with her daughter this Christmas morning. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
