Oral Health Condition in Rural India

Only 1.5% Dentists practice in Rural India where 72% of the population. Most Public Health Centers in India (PHC) do not have Dental Treatment facility. Most villagers are low income day wage workers who can’t afford to leave work even for a single day. They visit nearby city for treatment only when they suffer from excessive pain. Treatment costs scale higher due to deteriorated oral health condition. 

We are solving this problem by practicing community dentistry. Our Mobile Dental Van visits different villages each Sunday. We conduct Oral Diagnostics and offer on the spot Dental treatment.  Our community health initiative and events are aimed at prevention, early intervention, and direct treatment of dental and oral diseases . 

We have conducted Oral Diagnostics and Treatment Camps in 15+ Villages in last one year in which about 1000 people participated. We plan to conduct about 40+ camps in the year 2015. We wish to keep the Oral Diagnostics free to encourage in maximum participation during the camps. 

Also we wish to appoint village representatives, hire interns (both dentists and support staff) on day basis to assist during camps to be able to perform more number of treatments on the spot, thus maximize our impact.
