Behind the external beauty of Peru, there is an extremely large community of impoverished citizens who lack access to basic food, medical attention, and supplies. Much of the slowing economic activity seen in cities such as Lima since 2013 have been a result of political turmoil and natural calamities.The recent COVID-19 pandemic has only added to the economic hardships that these communities face. This August, I will be traveling to Lima to help local communities gain access to basic medical attention. I will be carrying tasks such as taking vitals, glucose levels, heart rate, blood pressure etc. I will also be assisting in health-related workshops where I will educate locals in hygiene, social distancing measures, and other safety practices. To help me contribute to these societies, please donate to my trip. All funds will be used for travel and medical expenses.
