It is with the greatest humility and only after much soul searching and prayer that I have decided to try this route for help.

Background

I am a 45 year old mother with a 14 year old son. I work full time but even so things are difficult. If my car, same age as my son, dies I will not be able to get to work.

We used to be comfortable but in 2011, for reasons I don't wish to go into here, we had to leave our home and move in to a refuge miles from home. During the previous year of so my ex-partner had run up debts approaching £6,000 in my name and having no way to prove that I had not opened these mail order accounts etc I have to cover the repayments which is a large amount each month.

Appeal

I have been given the opportunity to study for a Bachelor of Divinity with the University of London (distance learning )  starting in the Autumn of 2013. Alongside working full time this will take me around 5 years to complete. I need to pay the registration feel of just under £700 by November of this year and it is this registration fee that I am asking for help with.

End Result

On completing my degree, which will coincide with my son heading off to University to eventually become a primary school teacher, I intend to find work within the poorest communities nationally and internationally helping people who have not been as fortunate as I am to achieve more than they ever dreamt was possible. Be it within the 'Skint' estate in Scunthorpe or with the children who live on and scrape a living from the piles of rubbish in Columbia.

Although my degree and the purpose - to me - of my work will be God-centric, I see my future role as helping anyone no matter what their race, creed or colour. A struggling person is struggling no matter who/what they are and I feel my purpose is to help as many as possible.

In Return

I cannot offer anything material in return to people who choose to back me. I am in the process - once I have completed this - of creating a blog which all people who have kindly invested in me will have access to.

I promise to update this blog on a regular basis from this day onwards, all the way through my university times to finding work and onwards. As is the nature of blogs, amongst the details pertinent to this appeal will be my thoughts and feelings on a variety of issues. By the end of this journey - although this journey may well continue to the end of my life which hopefully is 40-odd years away! - you will know my family, friends, church, thoughts, feelings, struggles and joys.
