Emergency Fund – Help me make my daughters’ dreams come true

Update posted by Carole D On Jan 22, 2016

Jan 20, 2016 Today, I went to the French Consulate in Los Angeles. They didn’t even open the door, I had to speak through a closed door via an interphone. They said they can’t help me. Can you imagine an American citizen stuck abroad with the same kind of issues and the US Embassy wouldn’t even open their door? I don’t think so. But France did. In a few days we will be homeless. My furniture don’t sell fast. I feel so insecure right now. I wish I could fall asleep and never wake up again. But I have to stand up and fight this new battle for my children. I’m the only person they have. I have no other choice than resisting.

An unlawful detainer-eviction summons has been put all over my door. The eviction is on track. I have to answer within 2 days. And I must sell all our belongings before the eviction as I have no place to stock them. I can't barely breathe. I can't even look at my daughters in the eyes... We should be homeless in 6 or 7 days. How could I look at them when I'm not even able to assure them a safe place to stay?
