Deebo needs surgery

As doggy parents, we consider Deebo our third child, which made the news about his need for surgery even harder.

Deebo came into our family 6 1/2 years ago when he was just 6 weeks old and, up until recently, we've been very lucky with his health.

Three weeks ago, we took him to the groomer for his annual summer "haircut". We received the call that he was all set, but there was an issue; they found a large lump (egg-size) under his tail, attached to his rectum. Our hearts sank when the vet told us it definitely needed to be removed. Before they could do surgery, they would have to do a biopsy. We took him in the next day and paid more than we could afford to have this done sooner rather than later. Today, we were very excited and relieved to hear the lump is benign!

Although it's not cancerous, it needs to be removed as soon as possible; if it grows too large, it will hinder his ability to have bowel movements. The surgery will cost $900, which puts us in a very difficult position, as we truly cannot afford that at this time, and we're afraid of what could happen if we wait.

Asking for assistance does not come easily for us, but our family member needs help...we'll do whatever we can. Every nickel makes a difference.
