My son and I have been on a Journey since he was diagnosed in grade 1 with ADHD ,his first school wasn’t capable and didn’t understand ADHD, they asked him to leave and put him into a behaviour school he was there until Standard 3, after that they told us he was ready to go into a mainstream school. But soon he couldn’t cope and got told to leave. A lot of school do not understand ADHD and because the classes are so full cannot handle it. Primary School life has been a roller coaster and we were barely getting by especially with the costs of his tablets and school and General life, Deans Father came back into his life after 13 years and promised to Financially support his son he told us we need to give Dean the best education, he must play sports and Dean and I shouldn’t worry as he will support us Financially. So as a mother I was so excited and relieved that I was going to finally get Dean into a good school, he could do a sport and his medication would be sorted. I found him a great little school that has small classes and will help him. We were so proud that he passed primary school and now he’s in Grade 8 with his hard work and his determination he never let the obstacles around him demoralize him, Dean was excited to choose a sport as he loves to Swim and a very outdoors person. I said to Dean it Looks like we can finally be “normal” as we will get help… Until I received a call from his school saying we are outstanding all this monies that dean’s father promised to pay. As I only paid for the school books and half of the fees. The father has disappeared again and has not phoned us. He has put me into such a heart aching financial situation. I work every day to try giving Dean what I can on my salary but I cannot get to a point where I can breathe. My priority in life is to see him Matriculated and be the biggest success he can be!!!!i will always have Dean back always love him and forever be proud of him we have come a long way….
