We are heavy hearted to share that Dean Virginia "Ginnie" McLaughlin will be stepping down from her position as Dean of the School of Education (SOE) here at The College of William & Mary, after serving as Dean for the past 18 years. Her amazing leadership has been characterized by many as "exactly what the School of Education needed" especially during it's times back at Jones Hall. She has led the SOE through program changes as well as a phenomenal move to our brand new facility, which now houses state of the art classrooms as well as an amazing Professional Development Center able to house conferences and trainings. Dean McLaughlin has served our SOE, William & Mary, and greater Williamsburg community with such dedication for the past 18 years. Please join us as we strive to celebrate her service by giving to an endowment the Dean has been working to establish.
The long-time endeavor of the Dean has been to establish an endowment for associate professors in order to not only attract strong new faculty members, but to also keep them here at the SOE. Faculty would receive up to three years of an awarded amount as further incentive and support to research and teach. It is no surprise that Dean McLaughlin is striving up until her final year of service to create opportunities for others. Please help us make this final endeavor of Dean McLaughlin's a reality.
