De-addiction cum Rehabilitation and Vocational Training for Drug Users, Alcoholics and Commercial Sex Workers
A good number of drug users, alcoholics and commercial sex workers roaming around in our area who spread the most dreadful disease among the new generations for most of them faced discrimination at home or among the society. The need of this project can only be met with the help of an outside intervention financially. HMAI does not have any source of income of its own nor has any sponsor. The need is felt, and so it is taking the initiation to implement the project. Some of our members are working with PLWHAs and they suggested that a kind of such project is a must in our present day society. It is with a hope of outside help that HMAI is taking the initiative.
This project is aimed at establishing “De-addiction cum Rehabilitation and Vocational Training Centre" for drug users, alcoholics and commercial sex workers with an initial capital investment of Rs. 52,30,000.00. The activities like educating the drug users and sex workers about HIV/AIDS, dissuading them from the heinous profession and rehabilitating them into a respectful, income generating activity through vocational training, forms integral part of this scheme.
