I'm a rally co-driver with a difference. Our car is a Peugeot 205 Rallye and we are currently competing in the Heart of England Rally Championship, 2013 (leading Class A and out-performing other cars with twice the amount of power as us!). I write to ask for your help to support both myself and the fantastic Nystagmus Network Charity (reg. no. 803440), for reasons that will become clear later in the proposal. I believe, that with your support, we can continue to be extremely competitive whilst generating a lot of very positive publicity in the process.

Who am I?

I am Dayle Traynor, age 26 from Wigan and I suffer from a condition called Nystagmus and Ocular Albinism which is an incurable eye condition, however, I have never let it get in the way of things I want to achieve in life and always give everything 100% of my ability.

I used to go watching rallying with my grandfather from as young as 2 years old but always knew i was never able to drive when I was older due to limited vision.  I started rallying (co-driving) in events throughout the country in 2005 winning the 205 winter challenge.

I have always performed very competitively and we have won many events throughout my motorsport career. I was proud to receive the Phil Price trophy for ’Rallyman of the Year’ in 2007 aswell as being mentioned on sky sports rally extra twice..

The Aim

Unlike a number of Nystagmus sufferers I attended main stream school and completed both Engineering and teaching courses at college. I am now self-employed and undertake SEO and Social Media contract work for my father’s business and other companies. I would like my achievements as a co-driver to serve as inspiration to others suffering from my condition and who perhaps believe that they can’t become successful in fulfilling their aspirations which I see many times when I speak to people in the same situation as myself.

Being brought up with a interest in cars was always hard particually at the age of 17 when all your friends are learning how to drive. I know this problem is the same for many Nystagmus sufferers and I would like to make it known to them that the world is their oyster if they believe in themselves and not to be put down by anyone elses comments. I was my own worse enemy as a child... If someone was to say Dayle you can't do that I would go out to either try or many times would prove them wrong.

The costs...

Running a rally car is an expensive proposition. However, the pride and elation of being involved in competitive motorsport is priceless. Any donation will allow us to continue to enter this years events and continue to maintain the car. As you can imagine the costs that are involved include; entry fees, transport costs, fuel, tyres, brakes, preparation, licences, registration, accommodation etc. which add up considerably throughout the year.

Finally....

I raise awareness of the condition Nystagmus and Ocular Albinism through rallying and your support will continue to make this possible. Any sponsorship will provide a dual role in supporting me and my personal ambitions whilst at the same time lending much needed support to enhance the profile of a lesser known charity.

I regularly update my Blog with events and results, it can be found Here.
