David Cervan – beloved husband and cancer fighter

David Cervan Ruiz was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2015. He quickly decided to undergo surgery, which had „good results", according to the surgeons. But the oncologists told him the opposite; that his cancer is not curable, so he was sent home into palliative care. Though, David did not want to give up. Maria, David’s wife: „After the first chemotherapy we decided to get married, we went on a cruise and lived our days together to the fullest. I was so afraid to lose him. Every morning I thank God that he’s still by my side.“In total, he underwent three palliative chemotherapies; the third one was cancelled because of severe internal bleedings. In the meantime, the tumor had attacked the liver and kidneys. "The hardest part to face was seeing him fighting and suffering every day. Even if he’s the one dealing with pain, he’s always trying to be my biggest support. In December 2018, having already survived three more years after being sent home with no life expectancy given, we discovered immunotherapy with dendritic cells. At the time, it seemed like a godsend, it was and still is our last hope. We spent our last savings on this treatment. Still, the tumor did not stop to grow. Six months later the clinic Immucura, from which he received the dendritic cell vaccine, decided to continue the immunotherapy anyway. They helped us although we did not have enough money left; the clinic and its oncologist decided to pay the treatment for him. Right now, my biggest desire is to find a way to save him and give him faith. I’m from Paraguay and David is the only family I have here in Spain. I’m still by his side, not because of pity, good deeds or moral reasons, but because of my desire to see my husband get better as he’s the love of my life. I’d like to raise money to continue his immunotherapy and, in addition, to start nanothermia.

I’m his wife Maria and I did not give up three and a half years ago and will not do so now. The only thing that makes me accept this difficult path is love. I’m 28 years old, I married David at the age of 25. David is very motivated to beat the cancer (he even gained three kg this month) and he wants to be a motivational example for other patients to never give up.

He’s a wonderful husband, full of the joys of life. I have been living three and a half years with the constant fear to loose him any day.“
