I plan to launch Darkroom, a platform to make photography created by young, emerging, and established artists more accessible and affordable. Through a partnership with Boston’s institutions and organizations, Darkroom will also work toward making a social impact within the community by using part of the proceeds to benefit philanthropic projects or causes. What makes Darkroom unique is its overall aesthetic for showcasing photography and the way that people will experience an exhibition. This means presenting photography through mainly unconventional forms at alternative spaces and combining photography with other artistic expressions. The themes for these exhibitions, in most cases, will be connected with educational programs that will raise awareness on selected issues. Darkroom’s website will promote the work of artists worldwide by selling affordable and high quality limited editions of prints and posters that you can collect.  To do all this, we need your kind support. Your donations will be used to purchase what is the biggest investment Darkroom will need: 8 LED screens and 1 Projector (Since Darkroom will focus on alternative forms of showcasing photography, LED screens and projectors, largely used in museum exhibitions these days, are indispensable for the organization of all Darkroom’s shows.)Here is an example of Darkroom’s first upcoming events where the LED screens and the projector will be used. These are the first two events of many to come! Closed Doors: This exhibition will consist of photography installations and video art. This would be Darkroom’s first exhibition organized in connection with a social cause. A percentage of Darkroom’s proceeds from this event will be donated to the Domestic Violence Program of the Boston Medical Center. Spring, 2015Boston’s First Street Photography Festival: An exhibition to display street photography during the summer of 2015.
