Hi, my name is Nahuí Daniel Bedolla Ponce de León, I was born in Cancún, México a 17th of December of 1998, meaning that next Friday it'll be my 23rd birthday!

If someone were to ask me what’s the one birthday gift that I’d always wished for, second to an Easy-Bake oven, would be MY top surgery, which is why I’m now creating this fundraiser to be able to live my wildest dream ever since I can remember.

I can’t say I’m not a lucky person, I’ve been blessed with a loving and supportive circle; I’ve had my family and my friends’ hands holding me very close from the beginning. And life only got sweeter once I started hormones and I got to legally change my name about 2+ years ago, but deep inside me there’s a version of myself that hasn’t been able to live to the fullest.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my body. More specifically, I love my trans body, because it is mine and by just existing I contain a revolution within me. Being trans and being proud and being visible are definitely the best things that’ve ever happened to me, unfortunately not everyone shares that idea with me.

Did you know that trans life expectancy is that of 35 years? Meaning that starting today I might only have 12 years left, but I’m not afraid.

That’s why I’m ready to ask for help. I’ve postponed this for years but to be quite honest, everyday is getting harder to have to restraint my body with uncomfortable, hot, tight clothes, to have endless back pain, to miss out experiences with my loved ones because I’m not comfortable exposing my body as it is right now, to be afraid to get physically close to people so they can’t notice what I hide, to cancel dates that I’ve been excited to attend for days all because I can’t bear the idea of my chest slightly showing through my shirt.

I am well aware that the past couple years have been those of uncertainty and panic. I’m no stranger to those feelings. Whenever things feel like they’re getting better we’re back inside our homes.

But exactly for those reasons I can’t wait any longer for things to cool down, now I’m taking that (mechanical) bull by the horns without a second thought.

You may think you don’t have anything to help with, but you definitely do.

The money you had there waiting for an excuse to spend on or the spare change on your pockets after you buy said excuse.

Or even just sharing with your colleagues and family, your manga reading club, your dank meme page followers, your Animal Crossing Discord channel, your gym bros, your polyamorous circle, your vegan activist group chat, or your neighbor that you secretly hate but always ask for favors; please consider sharing with them.
