Magandang Araw - Welcome!

Welcome, My name is Danielle Sanz, 17 years of age from Sydney NSW. I am a working student currently finishing my final year of high school. My Filipino heritage comes from both my mother who originates from Nueva Ecija and my father who is a native Ilocano from the province of Nueva Viscaya, Philippines!

The Miss Philippines - Australia and Charity Queen Australia pageant, highlights the beautiful Filipino culture within the Filipino - Australian community. Being a finalist throughout this journey we celebrate our Filipino identity, cultural heritage and traditions. I am a proud, young Filipino woman who is willing to show dedication and pure love to those in need which makes this campaign rewarding and a great opportunity to make a change in peoples lives.

Being born and raised in the rich Filipino culture, I have been exposed to both poverty and wealth. Growing up in the province of the Philippines there was a lack of local career opportunities, having my father who had to go abroad to Australia to support our family. Life for most people in rural areas have to go through many challenges just like what my father has done to sacrifice for our family. Not only that but many families in the Philippines have to do things manually, such as washing clothes using non-powered hand tool for most construction as well as fetching water from the well. There are many children in the province of the Philippines who are not able to go to school because of the lack of educational services and resources. As well as the lack of health services in remote areas in the Philippines, which the community are exposed to diseases and illnesses.

As a young woman, I want to make a change in the lives of the community who are in need of help. Making a difference in the lives of the children of the Philippines so they can access to clean water, toilets, education and better hygiene.

Giving the community the access to local health services and nutrition education for families and children so they have the chance to grow up strong and protected from preventable illness. Helping to make a change in the quality of education and protecting child rights, showing examples of knowledge and skills for a better future.

All donations big or small can go such a long way, giving in your time and support can already make a difference in a persons life. Build a connection with the children of the Philippines!
