Portuguese photographer Daniel Rodrigues won World Press Photo's first prize in the category of Daily Life for his image of young soccer players on the field, on what was once the site of military barracks, in Dulombi, Guinea Bissau, March 3, 2012. You can see his beautiful award-winning photograph at this site:

As it turns out, Daniel, a photographer, no longer owns a camera. Because of the terrible finantial situation in his native Portugal, Daniel fell prey to the ramping unemployment in Portugal, lost his job, and had to sell his camera at some point after taking this wonderful photo.

I do not personally know Daniel but am starting this Fundraiser to gather some money so that Daniel can get a new camera and some photographic material to pursue his dreams.

We can all chip in and help someone with a lot of talent that needs a little push!!!
