In 2013 Dance Exploration, LLC launched our first 'Dance to Learn!' in Title One Schools Campaign. We raised nearly $500 to bring free or discounted dance classes to two Title One schools in the Denver Metro Area. In 2013 we asked students, teachers and administrators to nominate schools in need of our services. We had four schools nominated, however, only raised enough to provide for two schools. This year we are hoping to impact more schools in need of after school enrichment opportunities.

Donation Break Downs:
An average school will pay Dance Exploration $50/visit for an afterschool dance program. This visit is for 1 hour of dance classes per week for a maximum of 10 children. ($300) Most schools have a need for 15-20 students. In these scenarios Dance Exploration charges $5 per additional student to help cover the cost of assistant instructors for student safety. (Up to $300).
Here's how your donation breaks down:
$50= 1 Free Class for a School
$300= 1 Free 6 Week Session for 10 Children
$600= 1 Free 6 Week Session for 20 Children
Here's a look at sponsoring individual dancers:
Dance Exploration charges $15 per class to students. Therefore a 6 Week Session would cost 1 student $90.
Here's how your donations break down:
$15= 1 Free Class for 1 Student
$90= 1 Free Session for 1 Student
$540= 1 Free Session 5 Students
$900=1 Free Session 10 Students
Why is 'Dance to Learn!' in Title One Schools Important?
Studies show that students that attend Title One Schools or Low-Income schools are less likely to participate in afterschool activities. This can cause children to become more likely to get involved in illegal activities out of school, they are more prone to childhood obesity, and have a lower self-esteem causing a higher drop out rate. Students are also more likely to be below the average for reading skills.
Dance Exploration can combat all of these common threats:
1) By being in dance class, we know these kids are in a safe place, with a supervised adult.
2) Dancing improves balance, strength, flexibility, and general health. 'Dance to Move' is included in our core curriculum to guarantee participants in our classes are always active.
3) Dance can allow children a new form of expression. This can drastically improve self-esteem and help children that may be struggling in school.
4) Dance Exploration's 'Dance to Learn!' Curriculum for Elementary aged students include reading, writing, and spelling activities to help children with their literacy and language development.

$5.00 of every donation will be given to the Denver Preschool Program. Here's a short description of this great local organization and how they are bringing quality education to families of preschoolers.
'Preschool is an investment in every child’s tomorrow, and the Denver Preschool Program makes it possible for all Denver 4-year-olds by offering funding and information to families to help them choose the right high-quality preschool for their child. Because the kids who go to preschool now are the ones who are better prepared for what’s next. Visit dpp.org to start your search for preschool today.'
