Damsel in distress!

One of the loves of my life, my dear step daughter Franz, is undergoing surgery for breast cancer. She is only 22 years old, so it's a very difficult, nerve wracking time for her.

She is a devoted daughter and sister, doing her best to be strong so that those around her aren't brought down by her illness and impending surgery.

She has had regular checkups and the tumors are multiuplying and getting larger. This is causing her a lot of pain, anxiety, and tremendous sadness.After her latest appointment, surgery is now scheduled for April 1st.

The tumors are now close to her chest, so the surgery will be deep into her tissues. It will also affect both her breasts in major ways.

Her mother and I have pooled our resources to cover her medical and recovery costs, but are still running short on what we need to give her the best surgical and support options that we can. That's why we've decided to ask the world to help us a little more.

The funds raised will go directly to helping her by ensuring the best surgical options are available for the first and any subsequent surgeries. They will also help provide any counselling support that she will need and to allow her formal studies to continue afer she has had time to recover from the surgery.

Any donations that exceed the medical and recovery costs will also be shared with breast cancer support charities here in Japan and abroad.

It's not going to be an easy time for Franz, or for those who love and care about her. But with your help, we'll be able to give her the best support that money can buy, along with the love and care that money can never buy.
