Campaign Story
Cancer in the fire service has become all too real for some of our members at Dallas Fire Rescue. It has affected one of our members in a critical way. Randy Willmon has become the latest firefighter to get a bad prognosis concerning his cancer. Randy was sent home on hospice this week from adenocarcinoma, or stomach cancer.
Randy began his DFR career in 1989 and worked his way up to Captain. While working a staff position in EMS, he began having trouble swallowing and keeping things down. In April 2016, he got a cancer diagnosis. During all this, he continued to work and receive treatment. He contributed to the Cancer Awareness Committee for the department so others would be educated about this disease and how to prevent it in our world.
The Krodle Foundation would like to ask your help for Randy and his family. He already has medical bills racked up and certainly will have bills in the future as his outcome looks bleak. We will also match funds up to $5000 to go towards the Willmon family. Look into your hearts, and let’s show one of our own how we treat family. God Bless you Randy, Michelle and your beautiful family.
